Marine Vessels.

A marine vessel is a vehicle designed to move through or on the water surface. Marine vessels are used for pleasure, recreation, physical exercise, commerce, transport and military missions. It is derived from the term "vessels" which was used as term to describe all types of water going machinery.

Types of marine vessels.

There are many different types of marine vessels example:

  • Canoes
  • Kayaks
  • Rafts
  • Jet skis
  • Underwater robots
  • Sea planes
  • Catamarans
  • Wind surfers and many more
The four main marine vessels that i researched more on were:

1. A cargo carrier ship:

This cargo carrier as one of my designs of marine vessels. I chose this because it would be interesting to work with and construct a round-bottomed hull. Also the cargo carrier is also a nice idea, and is unique to work with. Round-bottomed hulls are used mainly for ships, as they move slowly and are heavy. If the vessel is not stable, the vessel could overturn.

2. A Jet Ski:

The vee-shaped hull has a sharp bottom that is able to penetrate the water. I picked this as one of my other designs because it would be nice to have a fast boat. And also it provides a very smooth and comfortable ride. I have picked this as our final design because of the Hull.

3. A canoe:

The flat bottomed hull is usually slow. And canoes are quite simple to make, I am looking up to a challenge. Another problem, is that all the sides need to be equal in weight, in order for the vessel not to topple over.

4. A catamaran:

This is a catamaran. It uses a multi-shaped hull. These hulls are hard to make and are complicated. It also needs a lot of power to run this vessel.
