My choice of the Hull.

There are many different types of hulls such as:

  • Flat bottom hull
  • Vee hull
  • Round bottom hull
  • Multi hull

I chose the VEE HULL.

Vee bottom boat- These boats have a sharp Vee-shaped hull. This helps have a safer ride, and a much more comfortable ride. The reason for this is that because of the sharp shape of the hull, it is able to penetrate the ocean surface. Although there is one problem with this boat, it needs more power, to be able to achieve the same speed as a runabout. I chose this design because it’s easy to make and also it’s very popular and is used a lot. An example is that it’s also used in like Jet skis so it makes the boat move faster because the Vee shape at the front like cuts through the water when it’s floating on the water. When it cuts through the water, it then has the space to move. I made the vessel out of acrylic, and not any other material. I made it for my own benefit, and also so I can learn how to use acrylic, and to be able to make a marine vessel. The materials I used were: Acrylic, Silicon, Glue gun + Glue stick, Plastic Bender, Propeller mechanism.
